Fragments Console
-Reclaimed granite
-Aluminum
-61.5” x 14” x 34”h

The Fragments Console uses reclaimed granite blocks salvaged from New England bridges and processed in California, leaving behind irregular
remnants that anchor this new series. Echoing their original structural purpose, the blocks support a utilitarian aluminum frame that bridges across
them, resting on the ancient material. The granite has been minimally altered to preserve its as-found condition and maintain evidence of its trajectory,
while the aluminum stays true to its manufactured nature through its pristine surfaces and exposed mechanical connections. The stone relies
on the aluminum for function; the aluminum relies on the stone for stability.
Fragments is an ongoing series that transforms fabrication residues from stone yards into sculptural objects. Estudio Material collaborates with quarries
and fabricators to salvage hand-picked stone remnants, designing each piece around the intention to preserve the stone’s found condition and
express its raw beauty. The stone is complemented by pristine metal surfaces, creating a soft contrast that continues the studio’s dialogue between
nature and the human-made.
